Fay Hoffman Church Born: 1897 – Milwaukee, Wisconsin Died: 1974 – Colorado Springs, Colorado Known for: Portrait, landscape and still life painting Fay Hoffman Church Mrs. Church was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 30, 1897. Graduating from the local schools she then attended Syracuse University, College of Fine Arts from 1918 to 1922, obtaining a Bachelor of Painting Degree. She was also award a scholarship for her sophomore year and received the Hiram Gee Traveling Fellowship award to study in Paris, France. There she attended the Academie de la Grand Chaumiere and Academie Colarossi Art Schools. Her time in Europe was supplemented by travel to England, Germany and Italy.
