Antique Vtg 19th C 1800s Large Folk Art Stuffed Elephant Child Toy Amish AAFA
This offering is for an antique circa 1880’s hand made folk art child’s stuffed Elephant. The toy is large for it’s type measuring app. 13.5″ tall and 14.5″ long end to end. The workmanship is wonderful and likely that of a loving mother or father, possibly Amish, who tried their very best to make a toy in the form of an amazing pachyderm. In additional to flappy ears and a great tail he has embroidered eyes and mouth. The elephant can be easily stood on his all four but he does occasionally tip forward onto his trunk. The beast is very firmly stuffed, likely with rags I think, he shows a combination of both hand and machine sewing. There is some soiling scattered wear as seen in our photo’s. Please note a repaired tear on it’s right front shoulder and leg. There is minor wear to the surface but no rips, tears other than as noted. If additional photo’s are needed or you have need of answers to questions we do not address we will be happy to supply them. WE USUALLY SEND OUR INVOICE WITHIN 1 HOUR OF THE AUCTIONS ENDING.
