Large 31 Vintage Folk Art Polychrome Hand Painted Wood Cat Statue (ca. 1960)
The cat is sitting on a carved black ball at the base. In very good condition with wear consistent with age. It has cracks on the top, bottom, and on the side from the top to the bottom due to age but it doesn’t take away its beauty.
Sybil Gibson folk art painting- FLOWERS large vintage
Sybil Gibson was born Sybil Aaron in Dora, Alabama. Although Gibson’s father was a prosperous Alabama coal mine operator, she spent most of her life in poverty. Shortly before the opening of her first art exhibition at the Miami Museum of Modern Art in May, 1971, Gibson disappeared, leaving drawings scattered about her yard.
